1 Month Already

I can't believe Cody is alreay a month old. It has gone by so fast and I already miss it but can't wait for what is in the months to come.

1st Smile

I was so lucky today after Codys bath. I had the camera with me and was taking some pictures and I was able to get his 1st smile on camera.

2 Week Check Up

Cody had his 2-week check up today. I dropped Hunter off at the office with Jon before I went. This appointment wasn't as smooth as I would have liked it to be. When Cody was born they told me I had 30 days to add him to my insurance by the time of this appointment he wasn't added yet. The lady checking us in said I only had till the end of the month he was born to add him. . . it's now July 9th. She told me I would be financially responsible for this appointment and would likely end up with a bill for over a $1000. It took everything I had not to cry. As far as Cody’s check up went, it was great. He's weighting 6 lbs 13 oz and is now 19 in long (a whole 1/2 inch longer). Breast-feeding still isn't going as good as I would like. The doctor has a couple of suggestions so I'll give those a try and see how it goes. Other wise Cody is great and when we go back for his 2-month check up at the end of August he'll get his first set of shots. (Pics were taken 2 days before 2-week check up)

Brotherly Love

I've been trying to figure out how to get Hunter to like Cody better and not be as upset about him being here. After talking to my girlfriend she suggested having Hunter hold him. I thought I would give it try.

Fresh Air

I took Cody into the front yard this afternoon to get some fresh air while his big brother got to play in the water table that Kelly got him for his birthday.

I didn't know what else to put him in except his car seat while I blew bubbles with Hunter

Bath Time

I forgot how small and slippery newborns are. Bath time was a little scary. Bathing a 2 year old is much much easier. Cody isn't a fan of bath time. I don't blame him, he gets taken out of all his warm clothes and blankets and has to sit naked out of the water. Poor little baby.


The pacificer was in hopes of him not crying. . .it was quickly spit into the water.

2nd Weight Check

Cody had his second weight check today (6/28) and he was weighting 6 lbs 1 oz. She had me breast-feed him to see how he was doing. Pretty much the same as before. He latched on great but wasn't sucking hard enough and wasn't really swallowing. Her suggestion was to rent one of the hospital breast pumps and try feeding Cody and then pumping every 2 hours to help stimulate it. Like I said before . . . I guess I have to wait and see what happens @ his 2 week check up.
